Coaching in 2024

The club has access to a number of well-qualified coaches who offer their time and expertise on a volunteer basis. The coaches are assigned to designated squads and have the confidence of the club’s management committee to help members achieve their goals in the sport.

Head coach is Peter Howard, twice an Australian U23 team coach and regular coach on Queensland teams for the past 12 years. He has been taking Brisbane & GPS rowers to National and State titles since 1998.

The club’s Junior Development Squad coaching panel is headed by Andrew McNicol. We also have Dave Christmas and Hamish Dunbar providing valuable support with the younger athletes.

The head coach for the clubs Learn to Row program is Andrew McNicol, a respected coach at BSRA schools. He has been the Queensland Womens Youth VIII coach from 2019 to 2024.
