2024 Regatta Date:

Saturday, 6th April 2024

Every year, during March or April, the Club is responsible for the running of this Masters regatta. Many years ago regattas were a regular feature of rowing activities on the Brisbane River. Due to a number of modern developments, the number of regattas has been reduced to the extent that no official 1,000-metre racing is held on the Brisbane River in the area where City Cats are operational.

What is Involved?

Clubs that are interested in attending need to have competitors registered in Revolutionise, via Rowing Qld a few weeks before the regatta. Once a member is registered they can be entered into the programme of events drawn up a few weeks before the regatta. On the day, clubs transport their boats to Lake Wyaralong and are able to park in the large space to the east of the course for easy access to the racing lanes. Food and drink will be provided by a local Boonah cafe, but everybody is encouraged to make sure they look after themselves in this regard.

Where is it held?

In 2024 this regatta will be held at the Lake Wyaralong. This is a lake between Boonah and Beaudesert, in South East Queensland. A Google map link can be found here.

Who can enter?

The events included in the programme typically cater for masters racing of 1,000 metres. This makes for fun racing on the day.

How do you make an entry?

RQ has endorsed the event, so the standard registration in Rowing Manager applies. A full list of the events can be found at this link, as well as a map link.

When is it in 2024?

Saturday 6th April starting at 8:30 am and ending sometime late afternoon. There is an awards ceremony at the end of the racing for winners to be recognised for their efforts.

Why would you enter?

To help keep the tradition alive. To have some fun. To give a sense of purpose to squad training. To help prepare for the Qld Masters in May. To enjoy yourself with your friends in a small fragile boat going hard against other people your age in a safe and fun environment.
